These were made for me - I absolutely love this boot. I have wide calves and I know people say they do and they don't know what a wide calf is, but my calves are wide and these aren't tight at all around my calf and they zip up so easily. These boots seem like they were made just for my legs. They fit perfectly. I can't believe I finally found a boot with a zipper that fits and they fit over top jeans. I love them so much I bought another pair for back-up cause I figure I will wear them out. I've gotten compliments on them.

Slip in the heel and laces that will not stay tied - I have a wide mid foot and a narrow heel. These have a somewhat wide midfoot, but all hiking boot companies that I have found so far seem to think that the midfoot has to be overly snug. My heel slips so much that I know I could not hike my Colorado hills. Laces come undone every 5 minutes with every tie configuration that I could think of. I have hiked and backpacked in my sneakers because I can't find a hiking boot for my foot. I will keep trying. BTW, not much arch in the shoe itself only from the insert.
