KristinBrown Mandolin - Dansko shoes are a different breed of shoe. I have been told by the guy at the fancy dept store, "Dansko's fit loose" and they do! I ordered the 38's which were true to size, I'd like to point out that I have a D width. They are still roomy in the width and toward the heel. But you should not be falling out of them. The first day, I wore these shoes with panty hose then worked my way up to a cotton sock. I've ordered a new pair today in black for work (my sixth pair). I am a flight attendant and I only wear Dansko's (Golden Gate Collection) at work. Yes the leather is a bit stiff but these will last you at least 5 years! If the leather isn't good quality, they won't last you very long. My first pair is in good condition I've had them 5 years! Good support shoe if you have wide width feet.

Jodi MBeautiful shoe but too tight - I love the look of this shoe, but it was way too tight across the top of my foot. As soon as I put them on my feet began to hurt. The leather is quite stiff so I did not think it would stretch or soften enough to become comfortable. I wish they had just a little more room or were made from softer leather - I would have definitely kept them because they were otherwise comfortable and supportive.

Dansko's Black Mandolin - After returning the 1st pair, getting the next size up, & getting black because it was the only color available (I was very disappointed). I still had to take them to be stretched & they're still too tight. The leather seems to be extremely stiff. I'm not real happy with them.

WeirdoComfy shoes for teachers - As I enter the "twilight years" of my career as an art teacher, the linoleum floors in my busy classroom take a toll on my feet and legs. These shoes quickly became my favorites. I can wear them without my inserts and not have painful hips and knees at the end of the day. They have cushion and adequate support plus I love the design. It is a modified version of those comfortable old loafers!
