Made 11 Miles Feel Like 2 - They seemed 1/2 size too large when I tried them on. However, after adding inserts and a pack and the heat of the day, they were perfect. No blisters or hot spots. Extremely comfortable.

Great shoe for hiking or rock scrambling - The La Sportiva Sandstone has great traction on the rocks as well as trail surfaces. I used my pair hiking in Zion National park and the Grand Canyon. They are stiff enough without being hard to hike in for longer distances. They kept my feet fairly cool and were extremely comfortable.

Great trail shoe - Out of the box and onto a 45mile backpack in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado...excellent support with a 25-30lb pack... these shoes felt slightly big and slightly wide for my narrow low-volume foot even with my orthotics, but with the right insoles and socks they are perfect. They were perfectly waterproof and the shank gives great support on 'narly' terrain. The sole gives great traction in dry weather and also held well on wet rocks. I climbed an easy 13er with no problems. I did get 2 (big toe) blisters, but I think this could be avoided with different socks and tweaking the fit with different insoles. A great shoe! Seems to be well made... and the lace holders glow in the dark... I’m still getting used to the light grey color -- not an exceeding attractive one, but they do the job.

Bad break - I think these shoes would have been a great shoe except that they broke in a bad place across my toes. Besides that, they felt comfy, stable, and had good ankle support.
