Ready to wear out of the box - I wore these for a full day of work without breaking them in, and my feet felt fine afterwards. It's a nice-looking shoe, and I especially appreciate the fact that it's available in extra wide sizes.

Great shoe, accommodates width variations well - This shoe has a Blucher design which adjusts nicely to the width of the foot for a good fit. This works great for my husband whose feet are different widths. This is a very nice looking shoe, and he has found it to be more comfortable than the Eccos he's been wearing for years, at about half the price. Zappos customer service was amazing at helping pick this out, it was just what I needed. Kudos to them!

Painful - The Ellington was painful to break in. By the end of a 3 day trip - I could hardly walk. My last pair (the model this replaced) were ready to wear out of the box. Not sure where Rockport went wrong with this shoe.

Good dry shoe - The shoes are soft and comfortable. I normally don't like rubber soles on dress shoes, but rainy Oregon necessitates a waterproof shoe for all the rain in the fall and winter. They don't breathe as well as I would like, and they can get hot, but that's a waterproof (resistant) shoe for you. I’m pretty happy with them overall.

Waterproof looks and comfort - I don't understand why it's so difficult to find wide shoes, or waterproof shoes. Fortunately, this shoe fills both those needs, and looks great while doing it.
