Not Pleased - Every time I wear these shoes - and I still wear them, because my trusty Merrells were trashed when I ordered these last year - I hate them. There is one issue that makes them suck: the stiff, poorly padded tongue of the shoe under the laces. When I lace them up snugly - NOT tight or cinched all the way down, but just snugly - they cut off circulation in my feet and I get excruciating pins and needles, and have to undo them entirely. I have narrow feet, so the issue is not that my feet are simply too big for the shoe. I have a choice when I wear these shoes: lace them so loose that they are totally unsuited for hiking (rubs a blister on the back of my heel on flat ground, causes my toes to slide and jam into the footbox walking downhill), or lace them up proper and have to pause every 20 minutes and undo them to relieve the pain in my feet. With my Merrells, I could really crank the lacing down and had no problem. SO, so, so disappointed with these shoes. I see no need to ever buy from Solomon again. I mean, the equivalent Merrells are more comfortable, approximately the same price, and they're waterproof. I bought these because they were gray and because I could buy them from Zappos. I'll certainly buy from Zappos again, but next time I'll stick to a brand I know and trust. PS - the woven fabric around the ankle caught on a twig and ripped within the first month of ownership. So not well-designed for durability, either.

I needed some shoes for walking through forests on hilly terrain. They are perfect - comfortable, light, and cool!

Great hiking and walking shoes - I hiked all over the south island of New Zealand in these shoes and now that I'm home, they're my favorite walking shoe. They look great (I bought the dark clay and orange style) and are very comfortable and offer good support over rocks and unstable ground. I even walked on snow fields with them! I bought my usual size and found I had room for thick hiking socks. They feel a bit big with light socks.

Salomon's Elios - Didn't have the support on the arch I was looking for. My feet were hurting after only a couple hours of walking. I was expecting more comfort and support. They were wider than expected. I loved the look.

Super sturdy! This is my second pair of Solomon shoes and I can't say enough about them. My other pair is 5-years-old and still in good shape. The only reason I got a new pair was because the others were all mesh and I needed these for the winter. No other shoe I have stands up like these, for comfort or wear. These are a bit wider cut. They have great traction and my other soles, which are like these, have walked the Disney parks four times in the last five years. Super comfortable shoes!
