Cool looking, but...I ordered these in a wide width for my son. They are a very neat looking sneaker and I would have loved them to have worked out for him, but they were very tight to get on his foot. They don't open very wide, which isn't pleasant getting on an active boy's foot. They were definitely not wide enough for his foot, even though they were the wide width. They left red marks on the tops of both feet. I am in the process of returning them right now. On the positive side, for a Stride Rite, they were fairly flexible and fairly lightweight. I think Stride Rites tend to be quite stiff and clunky. I don't usually buy them, but since this came in a wide width, and looked a bit more flexible, I decided to try it. It is more flexible than most Stride Rites I've seen, but far too narrow. The velcro didn't stay attached, I noticed, but that could have been because they were too snug on my son's feet. If you have a child with a very narrow foot, these are really cute shoes.

Awesome spring/summer shoe - Cool shoo in more ways than one. My 3.5 year old son loves the look and fit and mesh fabric will be great for warm weather.

Stride Rite Beowulf - I really liked this shoe. It was one of the few shoes that looks good and comes in an extra wide width. However, I had to cut the elastic piece under the tongue, so my son could slip his foot in the shoe easier. I hated to cut a shoe that I just spent this much for, but it worked.

Love these shoes and your kids will too! I bought one pair for each of my sons and they love them! They look good, are durable, fit true to size (even though I got extra wide- just in case) and the colors go with everything. They can put them on by themselves (ages 3 and 4) and they don't even look like the typical velcro shoe. Expensive, but NICE!!!
