JulesThis is my 7-year old son's 2nd pair of Stride Rite's Outrider H&L (just 1/2 size bigger). He likes the shoe and says that it feels "great now!" However, when he first put on the new shoes, he said they felt a little stiff. He broke them in within a few days. XW shoes are hard to find in the stores. Thank you, Zappos! I will continue to order shoes through your website.

AnneStride Rites come through once again. As usual, these fit perfectly on my son's 2XL wide feet. These & Crocs (in the summer) are the only shoes that I buy for him.

Stride Rite lasts longer than New Balance and comes in W - My son is 6 and I cant get a feel for how this shoe really fits him. I do know that he dumped out a bunch of sand from camp today from one shoe and not the other, so maybe his feet are slightly uneven, but I have found that Stride Rite shoes wear great. Radical difference between what the old Stride Rite shoes look like vs. his old New Balance. Love the velcro on this version - so easy in the morning. The color helps it not look dirty when they actually are...

Psy.d. MGreat shoe for an active boy - My son has wide feet and these shoes are just right. We've been walking two miles several times a week without any complaints.

D. NI love velcro shoes! My seven-year-old son is still not great at tying his shoes, so I really love a comfortable, good fitting sneaker for school with velcro instead of laces. This year we chose a darker color because last year his white school sneaker looked dirty within a few weeks. I wish kids' shoes had more arch support, but this is a great shoe anyway.
