Offshore work boots poor choice - I recently purchased these boots and after 6 weeks of use offshore my feet a wet. They are not ripped torn and have no holes in them. They don't even have scuff marks on them. But my feet are still soaked. But they were comfortable until they got my feet wet. I will not buy again for this line of work. Might make a good desert boot though.

TonyI saw these while viewing Zappos; noticed they weren't leather which was a feature I was looking for in a work boot. I work around water a lot; and leather always cracks no matter how much I oil them. The boots came I wore them to walk the dog; we walked about a mile they were comfortable. When I took them off they had worn off about 2" of skin from just below my calf. THIS WOULD not have happened if the boot was a bit lower; also the instep is low which makes them hard to get on and off. They are waterproof and seem to be pretty tough. Order them wider and a half size larger. They have stretched a bit and I wear my pants inside now which has stopped the chaffing on the side of my calf. Redwing should make them in a lace up; and go back to making them in the USA.
