Absolutely reek.As a smoker with diminished senses, I can definitely smell these shoes when wearing them. I'm a chemist, and I know my solvents. These don't smell of fresh rubber, polymers or urethanes, it really smells like gasoline, with an airy essence of burning tire. It was pretty unbearable when I took them out of the box, but they looked so good and were so cheap I decided to keep them and let them air out. Bad first day at work, I had to make sure I didn't stay in one spot for too long. And a dinner date on the second wear was pretty bad. I left the on my front porch for two weeks before trying them again. Still smells. The comments at work and about are numerous, a very flashy shoe, for sure. Comfortable, well made, but of poor materials. I can't regret buying what will eventually be a good shoe, but I'm never buying this brand again. Get some Brutinis, they're cheap.

Great shoe for the price - I purchased these a little over a month ago and wear them daily. I'm very hard on shoes, and they have held up better than my three previous pairs of Kenneth Cole Reactions. As for the new shoe smell, it was gone after a week. Not sure what all the fuss was about. They do however run about a half size too big.

Nice boot but...Great look for casual or business, comfortable, outstanding price. It is true about the weird smell, I believe it has to do with some type of substance that is "painted" over the boot to make it shiny in appearance; after a couple of wearings in areas that were creased, the substance actually pealed off! I contemplated sending it back, however, because of I liked the boot so much, I ended up wiping of the pealings and cleaned the boot with a leather cleaner and then polished it with a black polish. Normally I wouldn't do this, but the price is so great and with the looks, comfort I decided to keep them. After the cleaning/polish it looks fine. The company really needs to stop with whatever "glaze" they put on the boot. That said, worth it because of the price.

Nice for the price - These are good shoes, but they did take some time to break in (I have a some wide feet, too). The leather looks good and the sole isn't rubber which gives it a higher end look. I would give the shoe higher marks, but I have some nice $100+ K. Cole shoes and those look better than these. For the price, these are worth the money.

Zengara Boots - I ordered my boots on wed and I was surprised to see that I got them with in 3days with standard shipping. The boots look and feel great. I am glad I made this great buy. I pair black the other brown.
